Journal Story https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1WvZNaHiYK41mpZXoL1CC2BdjUGoK9W9nhkTl-5rhxaA/present?slide=id.p Activity 1: Classifying the bird Alice saw Scientists have many ways of grouping animals. Anatomical and behavioural characteristics are important in animal classification. Anatomical characteristics relate to how a bird looks and behavioural characteristics to how a bird acts. These features are used because they are often easy to identify. DNA analysis is also important. Behavioural characteristics relate to what a bird does, where it lives, food it eats, hunting/prey, and mating. Re-read the text and use the to record the characteristics of the moa. Listen to Alice describing what she saw from this radio recording, add any new information about what the moa looked liked and how it behaved. Listen from 32.00 http://www.radionz.co.nz/audio/player/2549378 After listening to the audio. Draw and label a diagram of the habitat of the moa. Make sure you add colour to this.
